Job Summary | The Department of Political Science in the College of Arts & Sciences at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY seeks to fill a tenure-eligible faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level with expertise in the field of Comparative Political Behavior, with a preference for a scholar whose research and teaching focus on Democratic Attitudes and Participation across subfield boundaries. This is a 9-month position in the regular title series with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2026. The first year Distribution of Effort will be 45% Teaching, 45% Research, and 10% Departmental service. The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise or clear potential to produce high-quality research, attract extramural funding, employ rigorous quantitative and methodological approaches, and provide effective teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. A PhD in Political Science is required. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Political Science by August 1st, 2026. Applicants must include the following: 1) Letter of Application (upload as Cover Letter) 2) CV, 3) two publications or writing samples (upload as Specific Request 1), 4) Research Statement (upload as Specific Request 2), 5) copy of most recent Transcripts, and 6) Evidence of Teaching Experience, particularly syllabi from courses taught (upload as Specific Request 3). In addition, please provide the names and contact information of three references when prompted in the academic profile. This information will be utilized to solicit recommendation letters from your references within the employment system.
