Summary:

David Trone for Senate is seeking full-time Regional Political Directors.  Regional Political Directors will implement a comprehensive outreach and engagement strategy to reach, engage, and mobilize key stakeholders, influencers, communities, and coalitions in support of the David Trone for Senate campaign within their assigned region.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

• Develop relationships within assigned region to leverage existing regional infrastructure, and cultivate diverse local supporters through 1:1s with community leaders and grassroots organizations, attending local meetings and events and other relationship-building activities.
• Organize local supporters into local and statewide supporter networks (i.e. Veterans for David Trone) and events to promote issues or other campaign initiatives
• Provide senior leadership with on-the-ground intelligence regarding critical campaign issues or drives to facilitate the campaign's engagement
• Recruit, train and host relational voting events within communities  
• Identify local social influencers to promote campaign content and participate in local press opportunities
• Recruit local residents and business owners to display Trone signs and other paraphernalia
• Manage a letter to the editor program; other local earned media campaigns
• Recruit for and attend all candidate events in assigned region
• Other department responsibilities as needed

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience in coalitions/community engagement work in different regions of Maryland
• Ability to work strategically and collaboratively across departments
• Proven track record building and managing coalitions among diverse stakeholders, reaching constituencies
• Proven ability to write for multiple audiences and translate complex information clearly;
• Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and presentation skills;
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and strong attention to detail;
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities change rapidly; and,
• Fearlessness in building relationships and unconventional alliances.
• Comfortable working and interacting with staff and volunteers in an online environment as well as with voters and volunteers in-person as needed
• Work or life experience in Maryland
• Must be willing to work non-traditional hours including weekends and evenings
